Last year we (The Mighty 9s) ran the first Mumbles Rugby Grommets surf session with the help of Progress Surf School.

It was a great success with three teams involved and around 25 players (and a few dads).

We’re doing it again this month (on the morning of Sunday 19-August) so please check the Teamer event to register your interest.  All junior members will be invited.

They can accommodate 40 mini Mick Fannings in this session – once full they can arrange another session.

The plan:

• Progress Surf School – Jamie Andrews
• Llangennith beach – meet at the Hillend car park
• Group size 20 – 40
• Discounted rate of £20 per child (a 33% discount)
• Normally runs from 0930 to lunchtime
• Beach games as well as surfing – very flexible on the structure – depending on weather and waves
• All equipment and supervision provided
• Bring your own wetsuit if you have one

I think this would be a great way to spend a day in the school holidays and could follow up with a BBQ on the beach with some touch rugby etc for the kids and parents.

When there’s enough interest you will pay Progress directly by bank deposit or credit card and book in.
